Exclusive: Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan: “Scott’s my better half”
Helen Flanagan and her Manchester City footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair have been an item for three years, but the spark is still very much alive!
In fact, Scott’s miles more romantic than Helen!
Helen tells Reveal: “We were in the Maldives on holiday once, and about to have lunch - when I’m hungry, I’m crazy. I just have to eat!
"So, I had the menu in my hand and was desperately trying to get Scott to order something.
"But he was too busy fiddling with this ornament on the table. I was like: ‘Scott, stop messing around and being so stupid, let’s order!’ It turned out inside the ornament was a letter he’d written for me.
"It was the most beautiful letter ever! It was so romantic and I felt so bad for telling him off. Thankfully, we we got food after that."
Last month, the couple moved in to a £6,500-a-month house after spending over a month in a hotel suite in Manchester.
"Living in a hotel was a bit cramped and we did nearly kill each other," laughs Helen. "So I was really excited to move in, the place is beautiful.
"Though I’m not one of these people who wants to be at home all the time. I’m only young and I’m not bothered about being settled in a house. It completely bores me to look in furnature shops. Scott’s mum does everything like that for us."
Having said that, it’s clear that Helen is loving having a home to go to where she knows Scott will be: “I’m so messy, whereas Scott likes to be tidy,” she smiles.
"He gets up around 8am for training, but I’m a real morning person so I’ll be up at, like, 5am getting things done."
She’s also keen to point out that she’s not your typical WAG. Helen quit her role as Rosie Webster on Coronation Street earlier this year, and has since been criticised for taking time out from her career. In reality, Helen’s actually busied herself with acting classes and has a short film coming out soon.
"Scott earns his money and I earn mine. When you see me shopping, I’m buying my own things," Helen adds. "Being called a WAG isn’t frustrating, I’m proud of my boyfriend, but I’m never going to be a stay-at-home housewife."
Helen’s not even sure whether she’ll follow Scott if he has to relocate away from Manchester for his career: “If he moves again, it’s not certain I’ll come,” she admits.
"I love him, but I’m my own person. Like, if I wanted to move to London for my career and he was still in Manchester, we’d make that work too.
"I wont just follow him around wherever he goes. We’ve done long distance before and actually It was quite romantic. We got on so well because the time we had together was limited, which made special."

Helen Flanagan I’m a Celebrity 2012
Giving Kate Middleton a run for her money! Helen Flanagan is a princess for a day in new shoot celebrating the Diamond Jubilee
Everyone loves a rags to riches transformation.
And former Corrie star Helen Flanagan certainly went all out in her latest magazine shoot.
The 21-year-old took her cue from the Diamond Jubilee celebrations with a modern day princess-style shoot in this week’s issue of Closer magazine.
The pictures show Helen in appropriately sophisticated regal attire.
In one shot Helen is seen reclining on an ornate gold bed with blue silk pillows, wearing appropriate coronation accessories.
The actress wears a white dress with silver sequins and high white heels, with a lick of pink lipstick adding a touch of colour.
Another shot shows Helen lying across a plush green silk sofa, wearing a mint skirt suit.
Conveniently, the actress revealed in her interview with the magazine that she takes her style inspiration from Kate Middleton.
She said: ‘I think she’s the most beautiful woman in the world – she always looks immaculate and pure class.’
Size 8 Helen has tried her hand at modelling since her departure from Corrie in February.
It was clearly a logical career step, since Helen admits that fashion is one of her great passions.
Helen lives in Wales with her boyfriend, Swansea City footballer Scott Sinclair, 23.
It must be a bit of a squeeze, as she confesses: ‘I’ve got two rooms full of clothes – I’ve taken over the house, but Scott doesn’t mind!’
Helen’s most recent obsession is lingerie. She gushed: ‘I spent £200 in Boux Avenue recently!’
'Their underwear is seriously stunning – I got an amazing leopard-print set. Scott loves it!'
Helen has taken advantage of the recent glorious weather by hitting the beach, and tweeted a picture of her feet in the sand this afternoon, captioned ‘Beach today #Mumbles ‘.
The size eight star admitted two weeks ago that she was ‘borderline anorexic’ when she was 15.
'When I was younger I was completely obsessed with dieting – this diet, that diet – and now I look back and think I was really stupid,' she admits.
'My mum, Julia, used to do WeightWatchers and I didn’t want to be left out, but then I lost far too much weight and got really obsessed with it. I’d also make up my own diets, which were pretty bad – I’d do stupid stuff like eat only salad for a day.'
Now a healthy size 8, she says: ‘I really like my figure – curves are sexier than being stick-thin – and I don’t see why I shouldn’t wear clothes that show it off. I’m just a normal 21 year old and I wear stuff that 21 year olds wear.’
Helen Flanagan shows off her curves in a little red dress… but only manages to get to 47 on FHM’s Sexiest Women list
There were a few surprises on this year’sFHM Sexiest Women in the World list, not least that former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan only made it to number 47.
But the 21-year-old actress attempted to show the magazine’s readers why she should have reached a higher position as she arrived at a party celebrating the awards last night in a very sexy red dress.
Helen showed off her curves in the plunging bodycon number, which left very little to the imagination. teamed with a pair of black peeptoe shoes.
She even got bronzed for the occasion, telling Twitter followers on Monday: ‘Just had a spray tan and it’s absolutely throwing it down. Stuck in my car outside the house.’
Helen topped off her outfit by wearing her long brown hair extensions scraped up into a high ponytail on top of her head.
But it was too little too late for FHM’s fickle readers, who didn’t even vote her the sexiest soap star - her Corrie co-star Michelle Keegan earned that honour after finishing in 26th place.
Amazingly Helen didn’t even make the top 100 in last year’s FHM list - Rosie Huntington-Whitely won - but she would have expected at least a place in 2012’s top 20.
X-Factor judge Tulisa was this year’s surprise winner, ahead of Cheryl Cole, Rihanna, Rosie Jones and Georgia Salpa.
Helen was also pipped by the likes of Pippa Middleton in 11th, Pixie Lott in 12th and Jessie J (16th place).
Instead, the actress was forced to keep company in the 40s with the likes of Fearne Cotton (41), TV presenter Caroline Flack (48) and Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall (49).
Last night’s disappointment was enough to knock Helen off the wagon.
The 21-year-old was snapped sparking up outside the event at the Proud Cabaret Club in London last night - four months to the day after she vowed she’d stubbed out her last cigarette.
Back in January Helen revealed she was quitting her 20-a-day habit so she could keep up with her sporty boyfriend, Swansea City footballer Scott Sinclair.
The actress, who quit Corrie to be closer to the 22-year-old, warned him: ‘I might not be the easiest person to get along with over the next few months.’
She’s a sight for four eyes! Helen Flanagan poses up in sexy sixties wear for the new Specsavers campaign
Spectacles aren’t the first thing which come to mind when one pictures a sixties-style siren.
But there’s no doubt that Helen Flanagan worked hers to sultry effect in her latest modelling venture,
The 21-year-old plays a saucy secretary in the new Specsavers campaign.
Posing in several ensembles, Helen smiles and pouts to tremendous effect while showing off her eye wear.
In one shot Helen dons a pale blue semi-transparent jumper with a very brief pair of denim shorts.
Curled up in a chair, with her hair pulled into a ponytail, it’s hard to say whether her glasses will be the first thing to catch the viewers’ eyes.
Another snap shows Helen sitting in a backwards chair, looking like a sixties teen in a cute black and white striped top, with her pink glasses providing a splash of colour.
A third photo shows the actress wearing an oversized blue shirt with the same denim shorts, looking quizzically at the camera.
The ex-Coronation Street star will doubtless catch people’s eyes in the alluring pictures.
The star enjoyed a relaxed weekend celebrating her boyfriend Scott Sinclair’s birthday in Bath.
Helen had a slight style mishap on the way to the Swansea winger’s celebrations, and tweeted jokingly: ‘Boyfriends birthday and forgot my whole make up bag #ha x’
Nevertheless it appears the inconvenience didn’t get in the way of their evening, as she added later: ‘Had a really nice night last night for @Scotty_Sinclair birthday meal with his family #ThemintroomBath’
The former Corrie actress, who played Rosie Webster has launched Specsavers’ nationwide search for the Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2012.
Helen, 22, even suggested that the photoshoot where she wore lots of different wigs inspired her to get her current hair extensions.
"I love doing photoshoots, it’s probably the only thing I had in common with Rosie, we are both really girly and like modelling.
"I really enjoyed the 1960s-themed shoot for this campaign. I wore lots of different wigs which made me wish I had long hair again!
And on the search for a sexy new glasses wearer, she added: “The best thing about this campaign is that it supports anti-bullying charity, Kidscape. Anything that helps stamp out bullying of any kind, especially if it’s for wearing glasses, is a great thing.
News from Weatherfield today includes former star Helen Flanagan revealing that she won’t ever be tempted to do reality TV,
Helen – who of course played the role of Rosie Webster – she’s been telling Inside Soap about life after Corrie, and the fact that she won’t be appearing on any reality TV shows. “I would like to learn a new skill, so Strictly Come Dancing would be good – but I can’t dance at all, so it’s very unlikely I’d do that 21 year old Helen went on to say that she now feels “free” since leaving the show and her character. She said, “Now I just want to be Helen. It’s time for me to be myself.” And while speaking to the Daily Mirror, Helen further discussed her reasons for leaving the show. She said, “I always to myself that I was going to leave when I turned 21. “For me the show represents my childhood and I couldn’t properly become an adult if I hadn’t left. “It finally feels as if I’ve left my childhood behind. “People keep asking me what I’m going to do next, but I just want to be me and live for the moment for a while. “I’ve been on Corrie since I was 10. It hasn’t just been my job, it’s been my whole life.” source: http://primetime.unrealitytv.co.uk/corrie-helen-flanagan-wont-do-reality-tv-and-terry-duckworth-to-open-a-lap-dancing-club/

What’s your ideal time to wake?
On a Saturday I’ll try to stay in bed until 9am as I’ll often go out on the night. Until I moved near Swansea with my boyfriend, Scott Sinclair – who plays football for Swansea – I’d usually get my extensions done and have a Fake Bake spray tan at my favourite salon in Selfridges in Manchester. But the last couple of Saturdays have been spent unpacking boxes.
What’s the best way to spend a Saturday?
I love watching Scott play football and I make an effort get to the games. I also enjoy shopping – I love Primark but equally I love Hermes. It’s the only thing I have in common with WAGs. I am fiercely independent and have been since I was nine, when I joined Corrie.
Cereal or fry-up?
I’d never eat a fry-up as it’s stodgy and leaves me feeling bloated. I love porridge with honey – I’ll sometimes eat it before bed so I don’t feel hungry the next day. I actually had Jelly Babies for breakfast the other morning. I have a terrible sweet tooth!
Night in or night out?
Because of his football commitments, Scott and me haven’t had a big night out since last October. He takes his sport very seriously – we have a great Saturday whenever Swansea win. Recently, I’ve been doing the housework on Saturday evening but I always treat myself to a glass of wine afterwards!
When was your last wild night out?
Last month. It was my best friend’s birthday and we went to No5 Cavendish Square in London. I spent all night dancing before leaving at around 4am.
How do you relax at weekends?
Chakra massages de-stress me. I started suffering panic attacks last year – one two weeks after I decided to leave Corrie – but a chakra healer helped and I learned a lot. Because I liked to be on the go all the time, I felt bad about taking a break. Now I know you can relax and still get things done.
Do you ever hit the gym on the weekend?
Definitely. I went to Bikram yoga once a week when I lived in Manchester. I’ve found a new class and I’m going to go to that soon. I’m lucky because I can generally eat what I want without putting on weight. When I work out, though, it makes me feel more confident about my body, and that’s the most important thing.
What’s your most romantic weekend?
For my 21st birthday, Scott booked a surprise weekend at Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa in Surrey. I had the most amazing facials and massage treatments and Scott decorated the bedroom with balloons and flowers. He’ll be training this Valentine’s Day but has promised to make it up to me with a romantic break in London.
A weekend in London or Paris?
A weekend in Paris, without a doubt! Scott took me there last year and I loved it. We went shopping in Louis Vuitton, went up the Eiffel Tower and saw a show at the Moulin Rouge. I’m hoping to learn French later this year.
Do you dread Monday mornings?
I don’t at all! It’s annoying but I’m a real morning person. When I was on Corrie, I sometimes had to be up at 5am but it wasn’t a big deal for me. My parents have a strong work ethic and have always been up early, so mornings have never been much of a problem. But I have enjoyed taking it easy since I stopped filming Corrie just before Christmas.
How do you feel about moving on from Corrie?
I am really excited. It was a big decision to make, but the right one for me.
What made you decide now is the time to go?
I have played Rosie for more than half my life [12 years] and it was time to move on. But I’ve had an amazing time.
How does Rosie react when she’s axed from fronting the road safety campaign?
She is gutted, as she had been told that it would lead to a national advertising campaign.
What is the reality show she’s offered?
It’s a show where she has to vie for the attentions of a single guy – the only thing is she has to be single to go on it!
How difficult is it for Rosie to choose between Jason and the TV show?
It isn’t difficult at all – the only tricky part for her is breaking the news to him.
How did you feel about your exit storyline?
I loved it. It’s very funny. It is perfect for Rosie and I’m pleased that they didn’t kill her off.
Could you be tempted to do a TV reality show?
I couldn’t do a show where you are watched 24/7 like Big Brother, but I would like to learn a skill so Strictly Come Dancing would be good.
Will you watch your final episode?
Definitely. At the moment it doesn’t really feel as if I have left. It feels like I am on holiday.
What will you miss most?
The people… the make-up artists and the crew I have known for a huge part of my life. It will be strange not having that day-to-day contact.
Did you get any nice leaving gifts?
The Websters got me a gorgeous pearl necklace which I will really treasure. I also got a special CD with all the pics of me as Rosie, since day one!
● HELEN’S LAST EPISODE OF CORONATION STREET IS ON FEBRUARY 10

It might be time to say a fond farewell to cheeky Coronation Street lass Rosie Webster, but actress Helen Flanagan has promised us that we haven’t seen the last of her.
The flamboyant 21-year-old has spoken about her up coming plans to Inside Soap magazine, saying she would like to learn a new skill next – and would quite like to try her hand (or a foot) at learning to dance.
Speaking about her chances of ending up on a reality show, Helen said, “I would like to learn a new skill, so Strictly Come Dancing would be good - but I can’t dance at all.”
But the Corrie star thinks that’s as far as she would go in the reality stakes because she wouldn’t want to be watched constantly on a live show like Big Brother.
Helen explained, “I couldn’t do a programme where you’re being watched 24/7, like Big Brother or I’m A Celebrity… Oh, and there’s no way I could be in Dancing On Ice. It would be far too terrifying.”
Speaking of her decision to leave Coronation Street, however, Helen says she’s certain it was the right choice for her – despite being in the soap from the age of nine.
“It was a big decision for me to leave Corrie, but it was the right decision for me,” she added with a smile. “Filming my final scenes was really emotional, and I’ll miss my on-screen family.”
Well, we’re not so sure we’ll miss Rosie Webster’s tears and tantrums but we’re certainly sorry to see Helen go. Although, by the sounds of it, she’s not going far…
